QUALITIES

SELF CONTROLLED

One of the reasons Emma Watson is as successful as she is today is due to the fact that she doesn't rely on others to do what she does; she is very independent. In contrast to many celebrities nowadays who do exactly what their managers and fans want, even if it means losing self-respect, Emma Watson stands for herself and does whatever she wants to do without the approval of others. If she doesn't want to do a photoshoot because they are going to make her look "fake", she won't take the offer. If she doesn't want to do a movie, even if it means losing money, she won't do it. Fun fact: It was rumored that Emma Watson would get the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey but she later admitted to never wanting to play a role like that, tweeting: "Who here actually thinks I would do '50 Shades of Grey' as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life?" Nobody can force her to do anything; she does what she feels comfortable doing and what she is passionate about, as it should  be. She's not your typical celebrity that does everything for attention, and that undoubtedly leads to her success.

COMMITTED

When Emma Watson sets her heart on something, she does it, and puts 100 percent of herself into it. Emma showed a true talent for acting when she was small, which is what lead her to audition for Harry Potter. Although she was small, she was determined to get a great role in this movie, and that is exactly what she did. She spent 13 years of her life committing herself to these movies, and never backed out of them. Although she could have spent her teenage years doing "teenage year things", she was committed to delivering and making sure she could impress her audience in order to be as successful as an actress as possible. Emma was, and still is, completely devoted and loyal to her projects, and that is undoubtedly a key to her success.

PASSIONATE

We've all heard the quote: "If you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life." Emma Watson is so passionate about what she does, there's no way she has ever complained about her job. As a little girl, Emma felt that she was misjudged for being a girl. For example, she wasn't allowed to play "boy sports" in her school, and was always expected to do "girly" things. In 2014, she was selected as the UN's Goodwill Ambassador, and since then, she has made it her duty to speak about the importance of gender equality, specifically feminism. Because of her own personal experiences, gender equality is something Emma is extremely passionate about and works hard to get across. She has spoken in numerous third world countries, and two years ago she gave an incredibly emotional and impassioned speech in front of all of the United Nations. She even launched her own campaign, HeForShe, which asks men and boys to advocate for women's rights. An excerpt from her speech includes, "You might be thinking who is this Harry Potter girl? And what is she doing up on stage at the UN. It’s a good question and trust me, I have been asking myself the same thing. I don’t know if I am qualified to be here. All I know is that I care about this problem. And I want to make it better."

CURIOUS

When you're curious about the world, everything you learn will seem more interesting and more special. Fortunately for Emma Watson, she is a naturally curious human-being. She loves learning about the world. To her, being an actress is not sufficient. She has a deep love for education and values her learning. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Emma, in the middle of filming movies and auditions, applied and enrolled at Brown University, an Ivy League University in the United States, and got a 5 year degree in English with a concentration in literature. College isn't for everyone, but it is definitely a place to explore new things, become a more knowledgable and cultured person, and get many of your questions answered. Emma was already a world-wide phenomenon, but she wanted to know more, so she went to college. In college, she learned things that have made her a better person, such as what it means to be in charge of your life, and she has applied this to her work, whenever she acts, models, or advocates for what she believes in. Her quality of being curious has only opened doors for her in ways she's always known were possible.

ALTRUISTIC

One of Emma Watson's best qualities is that she loves being selfless and showing kindness to others. Always thinking of others, especially the less fortunate, has led her to do things that have contributed to her kind heart and beautiful personality. For her birthday and for Christmas, she asked the people close to her to not give her any presents and instead to give money to UNICEF. In 2009, with her Harry Potter co-stars, she supported "Children in Need", an organization for kids who live in poverty. She's also donated to charities such as Blue Peter’s Mission Nutrition, DIFFA/Dallas and Wild Trout Trust. If she wouldn't have this goodness in her soul, her acting would no doubt be impacted in a negative way. Being a kind, altruistic person impacts all aspects of a person's life, and it has impacted Emma's, giving her a success that is recognized all over the world.
